This site will work and look better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
In
an effort to portray the chapter in a better light and appease the university's
concerns, I promptly developed a new site that would better serve prospective
members, alumni, and the administration.
A significant amount of attention was given to the site's Recruitment section. In this area of the site, prospective members can not only learn details about the chapter and Lambda Chi Alpha, but they can also learn about other fraternities on campus and information about recruitment in general. There is even a section for parents to learn more about the process.
From
a user's prospective, every page of the site can be accessed from the
left-hand menu. Essentially, the left-hand menu also serves as a complete
site map. In addition, breadcrumbs in the purple table cell tell a user
exactly where they are and how they got there.
From a design prospective, I wanted to maintain a simple table layout so that other members (alumni or undergraduate) would be able to provide updates with great ease. Although the table structure may be complex, clear comment tags and instructions are contained in the code for others to follow.
