Keeping informed on the latest Web technologies is challenging for they are constantly changing. Here are some of the books that I have read to sharpen my skills.

DESIGN:
	Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide Pub. Date: May 2000	The text covers CSS1 in impressive depth--not only the syntactical conventions but also more general concepts such as specificity and inheritance. Entire chapters are devoted to topics like units and values, visual formatting and positioning, and the usual text, fonts, and colors.
	Eric Meyer on CSS: Mastering the Language of Web Design Pub. Date: June 2002	Eric Meyer helps you understand how to use CSS effectively in real-world projects. Eric always wanted to add a third leg to the "two-legged stool" of CSS books he has written. This books makes a practical project-based guide to CSS a reality.
	Designing Web Usability : The Practice of Simplicity Pub. Date: Dec. 1999	Author Jakob Nielsen dissects and analyzes web design from the user's perspective. His focus, as the subtitle states, is "The Practice of Simplicity." This book discusses home page site design and navigation issues, search capabilities, intranet design considerations and design standards.
	Web ReDesign : Workflow that Works Pub. Date: Sept 2001	Web (Re)Design provides a framework from which to tackle the all-important planning, budgeting, organization, and management of a project from conceptualization to launch. The book follows a road tested experiential methodology to expose the critical steps to planning, budgeting, organizing, and managing a Web design or redesign project from conceptualization through launch.
	Photoshop 5.5 for Windows and Macintosh: Visual QuickStart Guide Pub. Date: October 1999	An accessible, how-to reference guide to basic photo editing, manipulation, and correction techniques. Includes new and revised material on using Photoshop effectively for Web images as well as in multimedia productions.
	Macromedia Flash For Windows and Macintosh 5 Visual Quickstart Guide Pub. Date: October 2000	Flash has developed into a tool to create graphics on the web which incorporate animation, sound, and color. Exercises take Flash beginners through the basics of creating graphic elements, transforming them into animation, then adding ActionScript and sounds to make the animation into an interactive movie.

LANGUAGES:
	DHTML: Visual QuickStart Guide Pub. Date: September 1998	Offers task based, step-by-step instructions and easy to follow screen-shots. It documents every aspect of this complex technology, and provides extensive appendices that make finding the exact code word you need a snap.
	JavaScript for the World Wide Web Pub. Date: June 1999	For people who already know how to build Web pages with HTML and are ready to take the next step in making their sites more interesting and exciting. With an easy, step-by-step approach and loads of useful illustrations, readers learn to liven up their pages with dynamic images and smart forms.
	HTML: The Complete Reference Pub. Date: September 1997	Theory, tutorials, and reference create an all-in-one resource for HTML programmers. Covers HTML 3.2, WebTV, Netscape 4, and Internet Explorer 4 Tags. Provides a 300-page comprehensive alphabetical reference for quick access.
	HTML: The Definitive Guide Pub. Date: September 1998	Covers every element of HTML, explaining how each element works and how it interacts with other elements. Many hints about HTML style help accomplish a variety of tasks, from simple online documentation to complex marketing and sales presentations.
	Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML 4 in 21 Days Pub. Date: September 1999	There are step-by-step instructions, sample code, and example pages. It teaches how to organize content, structure pages, use web graphics effectively, work with tables and frames, and incorporate basic multimedia and forms.
	Webmaster in a Nutshell Pub. Date: May 1999	Takes all the essential reference information for the Web and pulls it together into one slim volume. It covers HTML 3.2; CGI; JavaScript; HTML extensions from Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0; examples and descriptions of the HTML tags for creating frames, tables, and fill-in forms; Perl 5; Cookies; and more.

HARDWARE:
	Mike Meyers' A+ Certification Passport Pub. Date: November 2001	Certification training guru Mike Meyers provides expert tips and sound advice regarding A+ certification. With an intensive focus on computer hardware and maintenance.
	The Complete PC Upgrade & Maintenance Guide, 12th Ed. Pub. Date: August 2001	Minasi, CNN's resident computer expert, covers basic tasks such as disassembling a PC to advanced topics like formatting SCSI devices.

CERTIFICATION:
	CIW: Site and E-Commerce Design Study Guide Pub. Date: June 2002	This Study Guide provides in-depth coverage of official exam objectives, practical information on website and e-commerce design, implementation of design concepts, Web strategy and tactics, and how to enhance website usability with tables, frames, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
	CIW Foundations For Dummies Pub. Date: April 2002	Covers the essentials a CIW candidate needs to know to get ready for and pass the Foundations exam. The book follows the courses a CIW candidate can take to prepare for the exam - Internet, Web page authoring, and networking fundamentals.
