Dear Mr. Brown,

I am now writing to you formally on our discussion held earlier today, August 19, 2002, on the assignment of Mr. Jason Pearce as a Communication and Information Technology Volunteer to the WWF-Guianas Office in Guyana.

At my first meeting with Mr. Pearce concerning WWF's modus operandi including our expectations of staff performance it was clearly spelt out that, among other things, WWF is especially concerned about maintaining its image as a non-partisan organization. I have also explained to Mr. Pearce that WWF are very clear and strict procedures and guidelines for communication and dissemination of information. Based on the information your office has kindly consented to share with us, I doubt that Mr. Pearce would be the right choice for our office, and would feel more comfortable with the assignment of another Peace Corps Volunteer.

WWF sincerely regrets this unfortunate situation as we had already begun the process of preparing accommodation for the newest member of our staff. We would therefore be extremely grateful if you could consider the option of an alternate Volunteer.

Best regards,
Patrick E. Williams
